Wike Inspects Roads In Portharcourt & Ikwere

Rivers State  Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has assured the people of the state that his administration will maintain  the  tempo of projects delivery  after the celebration  of  his first year in office.

The  governor  noted that in his second  year  in office he will focus on rehabilitation  of  selected  secondary schools, general hospitals and the  development  of  rural communities.

Addressing  journalists  after inspecting road projects  in Etche, Ikwerre,  Obio /Akpor and Port Harcourt Local Government Areas on Tuesday,  Governor Wike expressed happiness  that Rivers  State  is  one of the few states where execution  of  projects  have taken  a centre stage.

The  governor  said  that  the  way the people of  the  state  appreciate  the  efforts of  the  administration  everywhere  he went on inspection, is an encouragement  to  do more.

He said: “When the people  are happy  that we are working  non stop, that makes me happy.  We are fulfilling the campaign  promises  we made to the people. Ours is to continue  to  do what we are supposed to do, irrespective  of  the  economic  downturn.

“I am happy  that  after one year we have  worthy projects to show to our people.  We shall not slow down. We will  start to renovate selected secondary  schools and general hospitals.  We shall also flag off the construction  of  an amusement  park  for children in the state.”

He advised residents of  Obio /Akpor  and Port Harcourt  Local Government Areas  to  be vigilant and watch over newly energised street lights to stop vandals from throwing the towns into darkness.

He said  that  the  administration  will continue  to  be  accountable  to  the  people at all times.
